The All Blacks secured the Bledisloe Cup for another year after holding off a strong Wallabies comeback to win 31-28 at Sydney’s Stadium Australia. Racing to a 21-0 lead in the first 16 minutes with tries from Will Jordan, Rieko Ioane, and Caleb Clarke, all converted by Damian McKenzie, the All Blacks dominated early.
Despite two first-half tries from Fraser McReight and Matt Faessler, the Wallabies trailed 28-14 at halftime. A late fightback, with tries by Hunter Paisami and Tom Wright, brought them within three points, but the All Blacks held firm.
Reduced to 13 players late in the game due to two yellow cards, the All Blacks managed to preserve their lead and extend their Bledisloe Cup reign, which has remained unbroken since 2003. Both teams will meet again in Wellington next Saturday.
