The Australian Border Force (ABF) has strengthened its partnership with Tonga through a series of training programs and equipment donations aimed at improving border security.
A week-long Supply Chain Security Workshop in Nuku’alofa brought together Ministry of Revenue and Customs (MoRC) officers and ABF representatives to discuss global supply chain challenges and reforms.

Acting CEO of MoRC, Taniela Sila, accepted critical equipment from ABF First Secretary Inspector Mark Harvey to support security operations.
Two weeks of advanced border security technology training followed, focusing on x-ray operations, narcotic identification, and the use of radiation detection devices.

A total of 68 officers from Tonga Customs, Quarantine, and Aviation Security participated. ABF’s senior trainers also worked with Tonga’s best x-ray operators to enhance local training capabilities.
The ABF reaffirmed its commitment to Tonga’s border resilience and security.
