Tonga Police have confiscated illegal drugs, cash, and other items in a targeted operation in Ha’ateiho.
During the raid, officers seized 59 packs of cannabis weighing 28.85 grams. In addition, they recovered $812.50 in cash, three motor vehicle receipts, and an electronic device.
The seizure followed reliable intelligence about illicit drug distribution in the area. A 37-year-old man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is in police custody as investigations continue.
The Minister of Police, Hon. Paula Piukala, is the representative for Tongatapu 7 which includes the village of Ha’ateiho.
