The cause of death for a 46-year-old man found outside his home in Talau, Vava’u, has been confirmed.
The Police and the Ministry of Health in Vava’u have reportedly confirmed that the man’s death was a result of alcohol intoxication.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the man had been drunk when he vomited and struggled to breathe, which ultimately led to his death.
He was discovered unresponsive outside his home last week, prompting an immediate police investigation.
Senior officer Halatoa Taufa confirmed that the man was rushed to Prince Ngu Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities are treating the case as an unfortunate alcohol-related incident, with no signs of foul play involved.
