A 41-year-old Popua man has been arrested over a house break-in and theft in Tongatapu.
Tonga Police executed a search warrant after forensic officers identified the suspect through fingerprint analysis and intelligence gathering.
During the search, police recovered a range of stolen items, including jewellery, electronics, tobacco, and food. The suspect also admitted to stealing 41 cans of corned beef.
Recovered items include a gold chain, silver watch, silver and black tablets, a power bank, flash drives, a speaker, a diamond chain, two black scopes, a BSP Visa card, various cartons and loose tobacco, a test tube, a pack of cannabis leaves, a SONY camera, and seven mobile phones.
The suspect is currently in police custody awaiting trial.
Tonga Police urge the public to remain vigilant and take precautions to safeguard their property, noting that theft continues to be frequently reported across Tongatapu.
