Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala is attending the Pacific Cup final at Sydney’s CommBank Stadium, joining a strong Tongan fan presence to cheer on Kristian Woolf’s team in their historic bid for the title.
Crown Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku and Lord Fakafanua are also said to be attending.
Woolf said earlier, “I know that the Prime Minister and the King’s son and daughter are both coming… it’s outstanding and it shows what these guys mean to the country.”
Following a thrilling 25-24 victory over New Zealand, Tonga secured its spot in the final, with young playmaker Isaiya Katoa emerging as a standout.
Tongan fans are expected to outnumber the Australian supporters, continuing the strong turnout that has marked Tonga’s training sessions in Sydney.
