HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, alongside HC Batley, welcomed thirty senior officials from the Pacific Islands, Australia, and New Zealand Electoral Administrators (PIANZEA) Network gathered in Nuku’alofa this week for the 2024 PIANZEA Senior Officials Meeting (SOM).
The PIANZEA Network plays a key role in promoting electoral processes across the region, strengthening officials’ technical skills and fostering strong people-to-people links.
This year’s SOM addressed key issues, including electoral integrity, voter turnout, registration, and out-of-country voting.
The Australian Electoral Commission has led the PIANZEA Program for over 25 years, with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
