The number of dengue fever cases in Tonga has reached 348.
The Ministry of Health reported nine new cases today, bringing the total to 348.
The majority of cases are in Vava’u (190), followed by Tongatapu (110) and ‘Eua (39).
Most affected individuals are aged 10-19, with the youngest being a four-month-old baby.
Authorities are prioritising testing for moderate to severe cases. Those with mild symptoms are advised to stay home.
The public is urged to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, wear protective clothing, and use mosquito nets and repellents.
No dengue-related deaths have been reported so far.
