Digicel Tonga has upgraded Ha’apai’s mobile network for next week’s Free Wesleyan Church Conference.
Digicel Tonga has added 2,100 MHz of equipment to expand capacity by 100 MHz per sector, an increase of about 40%, on Ha’apai’s mobile towers. The enhancement aims to provide faster, more reliable service for residents and the anticipated 2,000 delegates visiting the island next week.
During the conference, Digicel staff will be based on-site distributing SIM cards, selling recharge vouchers and assisting with MyCash mobile‑wallet services. Customers have been advised to preload their MyCash wallets in advance.
Digicel Tonga CEO Daniel Horan said “This is one of the largest events ever held in the Ha’apai community. At Digicel Tonga, we wish to offer the best to our customers and community and so we’re thrilled to add 40% additional capacity into the network, as well as ensuring that we have people onsite to service customers over the week. We wish the Ha’apai community a fruitful conference.”
The Free Wesleyan Church Conference is expected to draw members from across the Kingdom to Pangai, Ha’apai. Enhancing connectivity supports communication, safety and finance for a congregation travelling from distant islands.
