A flood warning remains in place for areas near the Ba, Nasivi (Tavua), Nakauvadra (Rakiraki), and Nadi rivers.
As of 7:00 am, water levels at key monitoring stations are below the warning threshold and continue to decrease. The Ba FSC station recorded 2.89m, Nakauvadra Town Center station 2.0m, and Nadi Town Bridge station 2.0m.
However, a heavy rain warning persists across the Fiji group. According to the weather office, “an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country,” with another system approaching from the west.
The troughs are expected to bring rain, heavy at times, and thunderstorms until Sunday. Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to remain vigilant and prepare for possible changes in weather conditions.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rain clouds linger across the region.
