Israel Folau and Samu Kerevi endured a tough outing as their Urayasu D-Rocks were thrashed 62-19 by Shizuoka Blue Revs in Japan Rugby League One.
Folau, 35, has equaled his two appearances from last season, showing strong running metres despite a difficult start for the newly-promoted side.
The D-Rocks have conceded 93 points in two matches, leaving them winless alongside Kerevi.
Former Roosters star Joseph Manu also faced disappointment, as Toyota Verblitz suffered a 21-17 defeat to Mie Heat. Manu, a try-scorer last week, came off the bench under Steve Hansen’s guidance but couldn’t help secure victory.
Elsewhere, Bernard Foley missed a late penalty as Spears Funabashi Tokyo Bay lost 26-24 to the Wild Knights. Robbie Deans’ Wild Knights extended their dominance, beating the Spears for the 16th time in 17 encounters.
The Japan Rugby League season continues to challenge star-studded squads.
