Fua’amotu International Airport’s runway has successfully passed a routine safety test, the Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI) announced.
The assessment, conducted every five years, ensures the runway’s readiness for aircraft operations.

An Australian company, National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), performed the evaluation, which included skid resistance tests to assess aircraft wheel performance during landing and taxiing.
The testing team was led by New Zealand expert Chris Wright, who collaborated with MOI’s Suliasi Have.
“The outcome report showed the runway is in very good condition,” the MOI said.
This positive result confirms Fua’amotu Airport’s commitment to maintaining high safety standards for all flights.
