Nishi Trading was honoured to have HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala commission their new solar panels and cool storage facility in ‘Utulau last week. This milestone comes a decade after the Crown Prince inaugurated Nishi Trading’s original packhouse building in 2014.
The new cool store and solar-powered facility are part of Nishi Trading’s commitment to supporting an inclusive, stable food supply while promoting resilience across the Pacific. The upgraded cool store offers advanced technologies that ensure the highest quality of produce reaches the market, reducing food waste and promoting economic growth. The facility is designed to be both energy-efficient and climate-resilient.

“This growth aligns with our aim for an inclusive, stable food supply in a transformative, resilient Pacific,” a Nishi Trading spokesperson said.
Farmers will benefit from the new facility, which allows them to store their produce at controlled temperatures while awaiting shipment.
Nishi Trading also acknowledged its partners FO4ACP, PHAMA Plus and the Australian Government for their support in making this project a reality.
