The Tonga National Visual Impairment Association (TNVIA) has received a generous donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), which included a 16-passenger van, office furniture, and a computer.
Mr. ‘Ofeina Leka, the founder of TNVIA, expressed deep gratitude for the support. “I am so thankful for [the Church’s] support. We needed a new van. On that day I went home, and when we had our family devotional, I could not stop my tears. I only cry when my heart is full of joy,” he said.
Leka reflected on the challenges of securing their first van, noting that this latest donation came without the need for fundraising. “This is a blessing for us,” he said.
TNVIA, a non-profit dedicated to promoting independence and inclusion for the visually impaired in Tonga, has been a vital resource for the community.
