The Ministry of Trade and Economic Development has announced adjustments to Tonga’s fuel prices, effective from today, Monday, 3 March.
The Tonga Competent Authority (TCA) has approved the following retail price increases for Tongatapu.
Diesel shows a significant increase of 15 seniti with the new price now $3.40 per litre. Petrol is up by 5 seniti bringing the new price to $3.30 per litre. Kerosene is now set at $2.55 per litre, a 10 seniti increase.
In comparison to the previous month, petrol and kerosene prices remained unchanged in February, with petrol at $3.25 per litre and kerosene at $2.45 per litre. Diesel experienced a 5 seniti increase in February, reaching $3.25 per litre.
Fuel prices for the outer islands are much higher than Tongatapu yet under $4 per litre.
These changes reflect global market trends and aim to ensure the sustainability of fuel supplies in Tonga.
