“Arigato Gozaimasu for opening your doors,” says Miss Tonga in moving final international address.
Tonga’s Miss Heilala, Racheal Guttenbeil, delivered a heartfelt farewell on social media during her final international appearance at Osaka Expo 2025.

Performing before the Crown Prince and Princess, government officials, and international guests, Ms Guttenbeil expressed deep gratitude to Japan for welcoming the Kingdom.
“Arigato Gozaimasu for opening your doors to the Kingdom of Tonga, allowing us to join hands in sharing our stories and cultural values with the world,” she said.
Her remarks came as part of Tonga’s cultural showcase at the world expo, where the Silapeluua Dance Academy also performed.
“It was an absolute honor to dance alongside our incredible Silapeluua Dance Academy team. I’m in awe of the talent these young stars carry,” Ms Guttenbeil said.

She paid tribute to choreographer Fakahoko, saying, “Your gift has not only shaped our performances but continues to shape our youth, guiding them to greatness through culture and creativity.”
Ms Guttenbeil’s speech also acknowledged the Tongan community and rugby families living in Japan, crediting them for their warm hospitality.

“Your love, care, and support made us feel like we never left home,” she said.
Crowned in 2024, Ms Guttenbeil’s reign as Miss Heilala has focused on cultural pride and youth empowerment.
“Knowing this would be my final international trip representing Tonga brought tears to my eyes. What a privilege it has been,” she said.
