Hon. Vātau Hui, Member of Parliament for the Niua islands, will embark on a three-week visit to Niuatoputapu, starting today. This annual constituency visit, initially slated for September 2023, was postponed due to prior commitments.
Accompanied by secretaries Suliana Tu’itupou and Lose Tapuaka from the Legislative Assembly Office, Hui departed for Niuatoputapu aboard the MV Kelesi on Tuesday. The visit aims to facilitate direct engagement with constituents, address pressing issues, and provide updates from Parliament.
The first meeting is scheduled for today in Falehau. Over 20 meetings are planned during the visit, encompassing discussions with government ministries, inspections of community projects, road assessments, and tours of the island’s scenic locations.
The delegation is expected to return to Nuku’alofa on March 24. Details regarding the parliamentary visit to Niuafo’ou has not been confirmed by the Office of the Legislative Assembly.
