Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku, commissioned two new community halls in the islands of Mo’unga’one and Lofanga today, marking a key development in Ha’apai’s infrastructure.
During the ceremony in Pangai, the Prime Minister highlighted the halls’ dual purpose as educational spaces and emergency shelters.

“These halls are more than just buildings. They are spaces for our children’s learning and shelters that will protect us from the uncertainties of natural disasters,” he said.
The halls, which were completed ahead of schedule, each measure 20 meters by 10 meters and cost TOP $380,000.

Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku also visited the site of a new Government Office building, a project valued at over TOP $2 million, due for completion by July 2025.
This infrastructure initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening community resilience and preparedness in remote areas.
