Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang forecasts widespread use of humanoid robots in manufacturing within five years.
Speaking at Nvidia’s annual developer conference in San Jose, California, Huang introduced software tools designed to assist humanoid robots in better navigating their environments. He emphasized that the manufacturing sector is poised to adopt these robots first due to its controlled settings and specific tasks.
“I think it ought to go to factories first. And the reason for that is because the domain is much more guard-railed, and the use case is much more specific,” Huang stated. “The value of it is very, very easy to determine.”
Huang estimates the cost of renting a humanoid robot to be approximately $100,000, presenting favorable economic prospects for businesses. This development signifies a notable milestone in the integration of AI across various industries.
Nvidia also unveiled the Isaac GR00T N1, an open humanoid robot foundation model and simulation framework, aiming to further advancements in robotics.
