Tonga Police have seized illicit drugs, cash, mobile phones, and a vehicle following a targeted operation that led to the arrest of five individuals.
Acting on intelligence about drug distribution in Ngele’ia, the Drugs Squad executed a search under the Illicit Drugs and Control Act. Officers confiscated 28 packs of alleged methamphetamine weighing 2.01 grams and 165 packs of cannabis totaling 125.51 grams.
Authorities also seized drug utensils, TOP$1,586 in cash, two mobile phones, and a vehicle believed to be linked to the operation.
The arrested individuals include a 53-year-old male from Ngele’ia, a 51-year-old female from Fangaloto, two males aged 29 and 21 from Patangata, and a 38-year-old male from Popua. All remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Tonga Police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to illicit drugs, emphasizing their commitment to disrupting drug-related crimes.
