A heavy rain warning and flash flood advisory remain in effect for Ha’apai, Tongatapu, and ‘Eua as a trough continues to bring severe weather. A strong wind warning has also been issued for these areas.
The Tonga Meteorological Service predicts occasional heavy rain, particularly in Ha’apai, Tongatapu, and ‘Eua, with possible flooding in low-lying areas. Strong northwesterly winds are expected to intensify this morning, becoming fresh to strong at times.
Marine conditions are also hazardous, with rough seas reaching up to 3 meters around Ha’apai, Tongatapu, and nearby waters. A small craft advisory remains in force.
For Vava’u and the Niuas, occasional showers and moderate winds are forecast, though Vava’u may experience rough seas today.
