The Skills Employment for Tongans (SET) Project has donated a range of essential teaching resources, marine equipment, and kitchen supplies to the Fokololo-‘o e-Hau Maritime School.
These items will improve the school’s classrooms and support its industrial kitchen, where seafarers are trained in food services for passengers at sea.
Captain Viliami Mafi, Head of the Department at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the Tonga National University, and his team led the successful negotiation with SET to secure these resources.

Fokololo-‘o e-Hau Maritime School, formerly known as Tonga Maritime Polytechnic Institute, offers seven programs aimed at preparing young people for careers at sea.
The school trains students for roles aboard vessels, both in international waters and within Tonga’s territorial waters.
