TASANOC will host its Olympic Day Fun Run on 21 June, bringing everyone together in a celebration of sport and community.
The annual event, organised by the Tonga Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee (TASANOC), kicks off from Olympic House on Vaha‘akolo Road. Registrations open at 6am, with 3km, 5km, and 8km options available to suit all ages and fitness levels.
The Fun Run will proceed rain or shine and reflects the global Olympic Day mission: to promote the values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.
“Olympic Day is a reminder of the shared values that strengthen communities. It brings together individuals, families, and organisations in a powerful expression of unity and purpose,” said TASANOC Secretary General and CEO, Netina Latu Vea.
This year’s event is further enriched by an Olympic Day Essay-Writing and Art Competition. Tongans are invited to submit creative work reflecting the Olympic spirit. Entries close Thursday, 19 June.
Olympic Day commemorates the birth of the modern Olympic Games and, in Tonga, has become a celebration of inclusion, identity, and movement.
Registration forms are available on TASANOC’s Facebook page or in person on the day.
