Canada’s U20 men thumped Tonga 57–27 in Nadi, sealing second place in the Oceania Challenge.
Canada’s under‑20 side delivered a commanding performance at King Charles Park to finish runners‑up in the Oceania Rugby U20s Challenge in Fiji.
From the outset, Canada imposed their authority. Angus Dewar went over early, followed by Kaea Griffiths’ clever grubber, and a penalty try before the break gave them a 24–10 lead—empire‑building rugby on show.
The momentum continued after halftime. Kohl Kletke notched his own try and four conversions. Seb Poyser and Josh Du Toit powered over from rolling mauls, while Daniel Lucic and Liam James added late tallies. James claimed two tries in total, with Joe Kaufmann and Kletke completing the 57‑27 final score.
Canada’s tournament résumé: a 44–20 opening win over Samoa, a 56–24 loss to hosts Fiji, then this emphatic victory over Tonga. This effort secured second place overall.
Canada will return home with confidence, setting sights on the World Rugby U20 Trophy. Fiji, unbeaten, claim the Oceania title.
