Tonga National University (TNU) marked the final day of its graduation ceremonies yesterday, with 466 more students receiving their qualifications.
Over three days, more than 1,000 graduates were honoured across disciplines including education, accountancy, nursing, tourism, information technology, and technical studies from six of TNU’s schools.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Tangikina Skeen praised the graduates for their achievements.
Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku attended as a special guest and used the occasion to announce his resignation as Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the University Council.

The Prime Minister’s announcement added a significant note to the celebrations, signalling a leadership transition within the institution.
The ceremonies highlighted the growing contribution of TNU to Tonga’s skilled workforce, equipping graduates to advance their careers and support national development.
