Tonga National University (TNU) is set to host its first-ever graduation ceremonies, a landmark event for the institution and Tonga’s education sector.
The Dean and staff of TNU met with Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku and the Minister of Education today to extend formal invitations to the ceremonies.
Graduations will take place over three days, starting December 4th. His Majesty King Tupou VI, who serves as the University’s Chancellor, will preside over the opening ceremony, where degrees, diplomas, and certificates will be conferred.
The Prime Minister has accepted the invitation to serve as Guest of Honour for the second day, reflecting the government’s emphasis on education and workforce development. Lord Fakafanua, Speaker of Parliament, will lead the final day’s celebrations.
TNU, established in 2023, aims to enhance higher education in Tonga, and this inaugural graduation symbolizes the country’s dedication to academic and national progress.
