As Tonga concluded the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Tonga Police showcased their commitment to safer communities through events and training across the Kingdom.
The campaign began with a march in Nukuʻalofa, led by the Royal Tonga Police Band. Officers, NGOs, community advocates, and stakeholders participated, raising awareness about violence against women and children. The event concluded with a community sausage sizzle at the Tonga Police Headquarters.
In Haʻapai, Acting Inspector ‘Anamalia ‘Aho, the Acting Officer in Charge of the Domestic Violence Unit, conducted specialized training on family and gender-based violence.

Local officers, including the Acting Officer-in-Charge of Haʻapai, engaged in practical sessions aimed at improving their response to domestic violence cases.
The Families Free of Violence Program supported the campaign, reinforcing partnerships between law enforcement and communities.
The initiative underlines a collective commitment to end violence and build a safer Tonga.
