The Tonga Football Association (TFA) is gearing up to host its first OFC competition of 2025 with the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship Qualifying Stage.
Scheduled for March 7-13 at Tonga’s Teufaiva Stadium, the tournament will feature teams from Tonga, Solomon Islands, and American Samoa competing for a spot in the main event in Tahiti this September.
The OFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2025 will take place in Tahiti, from September 21 to October 4.
The stakes are high, as the winner of this qualifying stage will join Group A in Tahiti, alongside Fiji, Samoa, and Cook Islands. For Tonga, this is a chance to redeem themselves after finishing at the bottom of Group A in 2023, which placed them in the qualifying rounds this year.
Preparations for the tournament began last year, with Tonga’s U-19 Women’s National Team laying the groundwork for a strong campaign. Training has intensified this year, with players and coaching staff focused on strategy and performance.
This marks a significant return for Tonga to hosting duties, building on the success of three qualifying tournaments held last year.
