Tonga’s goal shooter Uneeq Palavi is making waves at the Netball World Cup, trailing only Aussie star Sophie Garbin in the goals scored category.
Palavi has managed to score 186 goals out of 203 attempts in the competition so far, while Garbin has scored 188 goals out of 207 attempts.
Palavi’s teammate, centre Hulita Veve, is also making her mark on the stats tables. Veve is currently ranked third in the intercepts table with 16 points, trailing behind Courtney Bruce of Australia (19 points) and Felistus Kwangwa of Zimbabwe (22 points).
Another Tongan player making waves at the Netball World Cup is former Australian rep Mo’onia Gerrard. Gerrard is currently ranked tenth in the penalties table with 46 points.
Tonga is currently second in Group A with 4 points, right behind leaders Australia (6 points).
