Former US President Donald Trump addressed a rally in Pennsylvania this weekend, reaffirming his stance against sending American troops to fight in foreign wars.
He said that under his leadership, the likelihood of an all-out global conflict would be significantly reduced, directly criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for what he described as her incompetence in foreign policy, according to RT.
At the rally, Trump stated, “To make her president would be to gamble with the lives of millions of people. Sons and daughters will end up getting drafted to fight in a war in a country you’ve never heard of.”
He reiterated his commitment to avoiding what he termed “foolish, never-ending foreign wars,” and vowed not to deploy American soldiers in conflicts where their lives could be jeopardized.
Earlier in the year, Trump had pledged to resolve ongoing international crises, particularly the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts, although he did not detail specific strategies for achieving peace. His claims of being able to swiftly end the Ukraine conflict within 24 hours of taking office hinge on his promise to negotiate peace between the warring sides.
In contrast, Harris has criticized his approach, asserting that it would lead to Ukraine’s surrender.
Trump also suggested that his administration’s policies had effectively curtailed Iranian funding for proxy groups, claiming he could have prevented the recent Hamas incursion into Israel.
The Kremlin, however, has expressed skepticism about Trump’s promises, indicating that there is no simple solution to complex geopolitical issues.
As the 2024 election approaches, Trump’s remarks highlight a continued focus on his “America First” philosophy, appealing to voters wary of foreign entanglements.
