The Ministry of Revenue and Customs (MORC) officially certified 29 customs brokers during its first meeting of the year last Wednesday, reinforcing its commitment to streamlined trade processes.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Border Division, Sau Niulala, presented license certificates to 23 private brokers and six businesses, recognizing their role in facilitating import and export clearance.

“We sincerely appreciate your dedication and look forward to continued collaboration to better serve our people,” the Ministry stated.
The Ministry urged businesses and individuals to use licensed brokers for customs clearance, while also noting that self-prepared documentation is permitted but at the risk of the filer.

With the new certifications, Tonga’s customs brokers are set to play a key role in ensuring compliance and efficiency in trade operations throughout 2025.
