Tonga Police are investigating the deaths of a 19‑year‑old male in Vava’u and a 30‑year‑old female in Tongatapu.
The male, aged 19 and from Haveluloto, was found in Ta’anea, Vava’u on Tuesday. The female, 30, from Vaini, Tongatapu, and was also discovered the same day. Authorities have not yet released causes of death or detailed findings.
Police confirmed both cases are unrelated and ongoing.
Further forensic and autopsy results are expected before determining causes of death.
The deaths come amid a heightened police operation targeting weekend alcohol‑related offences. Over the previous weekend, law enforcement conducted multiple arrests in Tongatapu for drunk driving and public alcohol consumption.
