The Intergenerational Youth Summit in Tonga will host a dialogue with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Monday, 26 August. This event, held alongside the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders (PIFL) Meeting, will take place at at the parliament house from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Organised by the Fale Alea ‘o Tonga (Legislative Assembly), the summit invites youth representatives from across the Pacific to engage with Guterres on the theme: “Empowering Pacific Youth to Create a Transformative and Resilient Pasifiki by Building Better Now.”
Discussions will center on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Development Agenda, focusing on key areas such as political leadership, resource development, climate change, and technology.
The event aims to integrate Pacific youth perspectives into global discussions, highlighting their significant contributions to community development.
