MPs are ramping up constituency visits this week, meeting locals and inspecting key schools, services and infrastructure.
The Member for Tongatapu 7, Hon. Paula Piukala, began his 2025 constituency program on Wednesday at the Alonga Centre in Pea. The facility, which supports elderly people with disabilities, raised concerns over infrastructure and resource shortages.
He later toured Lavengamalie College, where staff highlighted issues with learning resources and the need for enhanced educational support.
Yesterday, Hon. Piukala continued to Tonga Forest Products Ltd. in Tokomololo, meeting with General Manager Mr. Peni Vea and inspecting ongoing community projects.
He is expected to wrap up his week with school visits to Tonga College ‘Atele and ‘Atele Si’i Government Middle School today.
Meanwhile, Tongatapu 1 MP Hon. Tevita Puloka held a community meeting in Tongata’eapa on Wednesday, with another in Sopu.
Ha’apai 13 MP Hon. Veivosa Taka also hosted a public forum in Fonoifua, while Hon. Sevenitini Toumoua (Tongatapu 9) and Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu (Tongatapu 4) met constituents in Lavengatonga and Touliki respectively.
Hon. Samiu Vaipulu for Vava’u 15 met with the Toula community yesterday.
Further visits are expected next week as the outreach programs continue.
