Tonga Police’s Drug Taskforce launched a series of targeted raids across Tonga last week, resulting in multiple arrests for drug-related offenses.
Acting on community reports, police targeted individuals believed to be involved in illegal drug activity.
The taskforce seized a variety of illicit substances and paraphernalia, including 27 packets of methamphetamine weighing 5.12 grams, seven packets of cannabis totaling 2.27 grams, and an additional packet containing 15.75 grams of cannabis. Cash linked to suspected drug activity was also confiscated, totaling $1,329 TOP.
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Authorities have urged the public to report suspicious activities as the taskforce intensifies its anti-drug efforts across the kingdom.
The operation is part of a larger crackdown aimed at curbing drug offenses in Tonga.
